While 90% of the house was renovated, my clients had two main focuses – his was the new commercial grade Kitchen and hers was the master suite / dressing room. In the kitchen, he is equal parts mad scientist, culinary student, performance artist and happy camper. His kitchen workshop needed to address each aspect. In the master suite, she defined for us her ideal atmosphere for relaxation, invigoration, entertaining, display and seduction. She wanted the dressing area and bathroom to connect as one space.
In the kitchen, although we started with a large, 400 SF blank canvas, there were so many appliances and specific workstations to incorporate, we still needed to employ the minute shifting and detailed puzzle-solving of a much smaller kitchen. Throughout the houses interior and exterior, we strived to give a consistent aesthetic and natural flow to what had been very disparate finishes and a strange layout.
We also worked with this client on his residence in Washington DC. While most of our projects are in the NY metropolitan area, we are actively involved in some more remote locales.
